15 fun little facts about Megan, Owner of Jeanil Wedding & Event Designs

  1. Fan of all music genres. You’ll find Hip Hop stations programmed in my car but I love classical.
  2. I wear my heart on my sleeve.
  3. I always have to be doing something and I become bored easily…some people may refer this to adult attention deficit disorder but I’ve never been diagnosed.
  4. I dislike getting “ready” It takes me 30-40 minutes to do so..shower, hair, & makeup and a few stops in between for coffee and check my email…then I’m out the door. If I have to be somewhere at 7, bet a 100 bucks I’ll be there at 6:30.
  5. I need adventure and excitement in life.  But can also lay on the beach all day  with a good book or people watch the day away.  Spontaneous travel is my ideal way of life. We’ll see if I get to that point some day.
  6. I have a sweet tooth. A bite of something sweet is a must have after every meal.  Which leads to #8…
  7. My ideal breakfast is a cupcake & coffee. Period. I’ll pass on the eggs & bacon.
  8. Before I head out for the day I stop at Starbuck’s for a large caramel iced  coffee in the summer…hot in the cold months. You know you go somewhere too much when they see you walk in and your order is ready by the time you get to the counter.
  9. I’m a huge cat lover. I swear if I had the chance I’d be that “creepy cat lady”…due to me taking home every stray I would find.
  10. I’d be lost without spell check…greatest thing on earth.
  11. I’m an early bird 5:00am calls my name every morning.
  12. My goal is to become a “Martha Stewart” type of housewife.  Practice makes perfect.
  13. My guilty pleasure…Bridezilla’s, Four Weddings, and any of The Real Housewives.
  14. Carpe Diem.  That’s what I try to live by even though in the wedding world I know where and what I’ll be doing 12 months from now.
  15. I’m a Aries…that should pretty much sums it all up.

DIY Dip Dyed Paper Pom Poms by Jeanil Wedding & Events, Design

I’m super excited to announce a weekly DIY project for you all! Megan Owner of Jeanil Wedding & Events will take everyday objects and craft materials and turn them into wedding awesomeness!

Dip Dyed Paper Pom Poms
A pretty, delicate, and colorful twist on the paper pom poms that are so popular right now!
Here’s the tutorial:
We wanted to use fabric dye on something other than fabric. In our experimenting, we realized that plain white tissue paper takes dye very well and looks great when shaped into a traditional pom pom. I love that the edges feather from dark on the outside to white on the inside.
We spread a few sheets of tissue out with pant/skirt hangers and submerged them into our dye bath. We kept them on the hangers until fully dry and carefully peeled them apart to make the poms.

10. I’ve saved the most unique till last…
Today Jeanil Design are sharing their fantastic DIY washi tape favor boxes ~ they’re easy as pie to make, just how I like my DIYs.

We created handles on guest favor boxes. These cute boxes came from Paper Source but any small box would work for these. To make the handle, tear a piece of tape, making it about 3 inches longer than you want the actual handle to be. Tear a second piece of tape, making it shorter than the first (closer to the actual desired length of the handle) and center on the first piece of tape. You will now have a strip with about an inch and a half of exposed sticky tape on either end. Cut these ends on the diagonal and attach to your favor box.
These would look so great on hooks or hanging from trees for your guests to take.
I think they’d also make wonderful confetti cone holders hung over the backs of chairs too.

Jeanil Event’s in partnership with O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service & Bill’s Pizza & Pub would like invite you to the 2nd Annual “Kickoff to Holiday Giving” Tailgate Party to benefit The Walter & Connie Payton Fundraiser. Sunday, October 23rd, (Bears vs. Tampa Bay London Game).

Donation of one new, unwrapped toy (per person) for admission to the event. Toys that are non-violent, in original packaging and the toys are for boys or girls ages newborn thru 18 years old. All donations collected during admission will go to The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation, to distribute this upcoming Holiday Session to in-need children with the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services.

In exchange for a donation, coupons provided for a free slice of pizza and a drink. Bill’s will also donate 15% of additional tailgate sales back to WCPF!

Meet Connie Payton & surprise 1989 bears players! unbelievable raffle prizes! Come watch the game, eat & drink, bag tournament, LIVE music by the local band Darmata, and silent auction. Event will be outside (weather permitting) please dress for the weather.

For some, they may have the time, but just don’t want to deal all this stuff and with the stress that often comes with planning a wedding/event.

I already have a Bridal Attendant/Coordinator at my venue; do I really need a Wedding Planner?

Yes, you do! At a banquet facility/hotel, the Attendant/Coordinator is there to handle all details of the facility. With JeanilW&E’s, my services could include budget management, finding vendors and negotiating contracts, complete event design, honeymoon planning help, and much more. With all the packages I offer, I will create a customized itinerary for your day, contact your vendors to make sure everything will go according to plan, run your rehearsal, offer complete wedding day coverage, and more. I will set up the ceremony and reception site to make sure that every detail is just as you want it. You are in constant contact with us, so we know exactly how you want things handled. Not to mention, you have a friend and expert that will always be there! The Attendant/Coordinator services do not include any of the above mentioned.

I’ve heard Planners are expensive, how much do your packages/services cost?

This is at the top of the list for commonly asked questions and I totally understand why. I could ramble on about how “Wedding Planning is an invaluable service”, blah blah, but I won’t. Don’t get me wrong, it is true, but that’s not what you want to hear! I’m not sure that this is what you want to hear either, but it certainly has helped other clients who had the same question… In order to give exact pricing information, a complimentary “Get Acquainted” consultation will be needed to find out more about your dream wedding/event, what it entails, and all the other important details. These factors all help decide pricing.  Working with all budgets is not an issue.

Is it REALLY necessary to come in for a consultation?

Yes! Don’t be afraid =) Our “Get Acquainted” consultation will give me the opportunity to clearly understand the vision you have for your wedding day or special event. It also helps me to evaluate your planning and design needs. Figuring out exactly what your needs are, allows me to offer correct recommendations of services and accurate pricing for the specific package needed.
You will also have opportunity to find out how we can help you create your dream wedding. Or help with the special event, bridal shower, milestone event…I could go on and on! You have absolutely nothing to lose – there’s no cost to you!

What if I need more time for planning than your package(s) provide?

No worries! I can always add extra planning time to the packages, to address any areas of concern. I’m here to make this planning experience what you deserve, so whatever your needs are, I will be happy to oblige!

Do you take on more than one wedding per day?

No, I do not. I need to be able to give you the complete attention and wonderful service you deserve, so concentrating on you and your needs, on your day, is key!

Do you accept credit cards and what is your payment structure?

Yes, I do! There is a processing fee associated with payments using credit cards. The payment structure is based around the specific details of your wedding. However, our clients are typically set up on a monthly payment plan.

Are you able to provide additional services besides those listed?

Absolutely! Remember, I’m here for you, so whatever your needs are I will be sure to accommodate.

I love everything I’ve seen, but what sets you apart from all the other planning companies out there?

I always make your wedding and your needs a priority. Responding to your emails, phone calls, and text messages within a timely manner is important to me. Getting your to-do’s taken care of, is never something that takes months and months to happen. That’s because I do not overextend myself with too many weddings/events that hinders the attention and commitment you deserve.
